Terms of Service

Welcome to MailFred

We invite you to access our web sites and use our Service (as defined below). Please note that your invitation is subject to your review and agreement with certain Terms and conditions. In the following we describe your and our rights in detail. Please read these Terms carefully.

What are the Terms of Service?

The Terms of Service are a contract between you and MailFred. When you use our Service we expect that you agree to these Terms. If you choose to reject our Terms of Service you do not have any right to access or use our Service.

Who are the parties agreeing to this contract?

MailFred is a project by Manuel Koelman (see imprint). This contract is a legally binding contract between you and Manuel Koelman. MailFred is in no way affiliated with Google.

What is the MailFred Service?

The MailFred Service consists of a browser extension for Chrome. Through the browser extension MailFred is integrated into GMail and augments it with useful features.

Will these Terms of Service change?

We are currently in beta and are testing the product. That means that changes in our Service and thus most probably also to these Terms of Service are very likely.

When we change anything we will try to contact you via email. However, it might be that it is necessary in certain situations – e.g. to adhere with legal requirements – that a change of these Terms is immediately required. We will always announce changes here on our website.

Should we change these Terms of Service you are free to accept them or terminate using our Service. Using the Service after the Terms come into effect means that you agree to the new Terms.

What do I have to do to use MailFred?

You will find all the information about the signup process at http://mailfred.de/getting-started.

What are my rights when I have an account?

When you register and accept these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, worldwide, and non-exclusive license to utilize the Service so long as you are of legal age to form a binding contract and you are not barred from receiving the Service under your current laws. These Terms will terminate once you delete your account or we delete your account based on these Terms.

You acknowledge that we cannot guarantee that the Service – especially the scheduling of messages in GMail – will always work. The MailFred Service relies on the availability of Google servers especially GMail.com (standard theme), “Google Apps Engine” and an up to date Google Chrome or Firefox browser. MailFred is not responsable for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of these Services.

Will MailFred access or read my private data e.g. my mails or contacts?

We take your privacy very seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge, accept and agree with all provisions of the Privacy Policy.

Who owns the source code? Can I change it?

By accepting these Terms you agree that the rights for the Service are restricted. You especially agree to not change the source code, not create derivative work, not compile nor through other ways extract source code. You are only permitted to do any of these with our written consent. That said, part of the source code is open source. You can find it here: https://github.com/MailFred/extension.

Will MailFred extent, adapt or change the service in the future?

We reserve the right at any time and at our sole discretion to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service or any part thereof, with or without notice. You agree that we shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of any part of the Service.

Where is my data hosted?

MailFred runs entirely on Google servers. These services have their own Terms of Service and privacy policy.

How can I terminate the use of MailFred?

You may discontinue your use of the Service at any time, for any or no reason and with or without notice. You can always delete your account by uninstalling the browser extension from your browser or revoking access to your GMail account.

MailFred may also terminate the Service, or your access to or use of the Service or your account, with or without notice. In the event of any termination, we will close your account.

Please note that in the event of closing your account the Service will immediately stop working. Labels such as “MailFred” or “MailFred/Scheduling” have to be deleted by you manually.

We hope you will find MailFred useful.
